Thoughts on “Do we really need to assign homework?”
I teach high school physics, so my students are mostly grade 10, 11, and 12. All the “homework” I give to students is additional practice, encouraging students to do as much or as little as they need to feel confident in their understanding. Each set is leveled with easier, medium, and hard problems, plus we have frequent and smaller assessments — I’ve found this homework-and-assessment strategy helps students deeply learn the knowledge and skills in physics!

In your overall assessment structure, how do you use homework?
