PuttDots: A Brutally Effective Training Tool

Half of the game of golf is played around and on the putting surface, making skills with the putter important. To putt the ball in the right direction and with the right speed, players must control several variables: The face angle of the putter, the arc and length of the stroke, and the ball-putter strike location. The strike location is important because toe- and heel-side putts roll differently than a putt with a strike in the middle of the putter, making non-middle strikes difficult to control. PuttDots help players by making it painfully obvious when the ball is struck on the toe or heel of the putter — the ball goes slowly and way offline. This instant and brutal feedback gives players an accurate picture of their strike location, which increases the effectiveness of practice. By using PuttDots consistently, players should become better at managing their strike location and make more putts!

The Product: PuttDots

The dots are made of a semi-firm plastic — soft enough not to scuff a golf ball, but firm enough to give feedback. The adhesive is quite sticky, ensuring the dots stay attached to your putter for many sessions.
